Compumachine has supplied CNC machine tools to shops across New England since 1980 — horizontal boring mills, bridge and gantry machining centres, and vertical turning lathes, alongside the smaller machining centres and lathes from the same builders.

Our lines run from standard vertical machining centres and CNC lathes up to gantry mills and vertical turning lathes measured in metres — small and large machine tools, from the same four manufacturers and the same people.

How we work

We represent four manufacturers rather than a catalogue of dozens. That is a deliberate choice — it means we can speak to the real differences between these machines, and to which one actually suits the work in front of you.

Tell us what you make — envelope, weight, material, tolerance and how many — and we will tell you which machine makes it. If none of ours does, we will say so. We sell the machines; we do not machine parts.

Where we came from

Founded in 1980, Compumachine sold the first Compumill, brought Fadal to New England, bought a machine builder in Japan and has put more than four thousand CNC machines on New England shop floors. The full history is here.

Essex Tech

In 2014 we equipped the machine shop at the new Essex Technical High School in Danvers with more than twenty CNC and manual machine tools — the Compumachine Technology Center. The story, the press coverage and the photos are here.
